THROWBACK THURSDAY: PATTY LOVELESS TOPS COUNTRY CHART


Twenty-one years ago today (Thursday, June 19th), Patty Loveless topped the charts with her hit, “Blame It On Your Heart.” It was not her first visit to the chart pinnacle, but at the time, Patty told us that she doesn’t look to the music industry to deem a song Number One in her book. [“There are times when I hear a good song that it don’t matter if it’s Number One or not. I like it; and if I like it, then it’s Number One to me. It may not be to somebody else, but it is to me, and I’m not talking just about my music, I’m talking about other artists out there.”] SOUNDCUE (:14 OC… artists out there.)

“Blame In On Your Heart” was the first of four singles from Patty’s 1993 album, Only What I Feel. Another hit from that album was the poignant, “How Can I Help You Say Goodbye.”
