NORTH BALTIMORE — The already-large CSX railyard in North Baltimore is getting bigger.
In what is reportedly a $43 million expansion, CSX is expanding its lift capacity by about 50 percent by adding two cranes and expanding tracks. It also is adding new receiving and departure tracks inside the terminal limits to assist train movements, CSX reported. The expansion began in spring 2014 and could be completed by year-end, the company reported.
Company officials could not be reached to determine whether CSX is adding jobs. The railyard employs nearly 300.
