Local man indicted for sexual assault of 2 girls

A local man was indicted by a Hancock County grand jury on Tuesday for sexually assaulting two girls who were less than 12 years old at the time. Thomas R. Scarberry, 34, address not reported, was charged with one count of rape, a first-degree felony; three counts of gross sexual imposition, all third-degree felonies; and one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony. Scarberry has had varying Hancock County addresses over the past few years, according to court records. NB school board member resigns; principal hired

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore school board accepted the resignation of one of its own, and also hired an elementary school principal Tuesday. Russell Bretz, vice president of the school board, announced he will step down, effective Thursday. Findlay police arrest 2 after chase

Findlay police arrested and incarcerated two Findlay men after pursuing them in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon. Danny R. Scarberry, 48, and passenger David R. Lamb, 38, were in a Ford Explorer on North Blanchard Street at 1:12 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop the car for a registration violation, according to police. The car stopped in the 400 block of Allen Avenue, but Scarberry drove off when the officer started to approach. Murder suspect’s bond continued at $1 million

A Findlay Municipal Court judge on Tuesday continued a $1 million bond for a Findlay man charged with shooting his wife on Saturday. Onelio Almeida, 58, made an initial court appearance by video connection from the Hancock County jail on a charge of murder, an unclassified felony, for allegedly killing his estranged wife, Juanita Almeida, 44. Two area teenagers were injured in a two-car accident on Ohio 568, east of Findlay, early Tuesday afternoon. The Findlay post of the State Highway Patrol reported that a 2002 Honda driven by Taylor Bacon, 16, of Forest, was westbound on Ohio 568 at 12:40 p.m. when he stopped to turn left onto Marion Township 234 and the car was struck from behind by a westbound 2002 Ford driven by Susan Stowe, 50, of Carey. MOUNT BLANCHARD — A Forest woman was killed and five others were injured in a two-vehicle collision at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday at a rural intersection east of Mount Blanchard. Jennifer L. Leightey, 35, of Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. Where did you grow up?  I grew up on a small farm just south of Rawson.

Do you have any siblings?  I have twin brothers that are four years younger than me.

When did you know you wanted to be on the radio?  I knew in the 8th grade. Mike McKitrick who at the time was the morning man on WFIN came to my English class to talk about a career in radio.

Do you have any nick names?  My nickname in high school was “Red”  My hair used to be red… when I had hair.

What is your favorite sport?  Football at all levels
