Water Main Breaks Cause Road Closures And Detours

(From the Village of Mt. Blanchard)

Village Update – Important Notice to All Residents – 2/8/2026

The Village would like to inform all residents that two water main breaks have been identified along Main Street. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this unexpected situation may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work diligently to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

In order to allow village crews to safely access the affected areas and complete the necessary repairs, State Route 37 will be closed tomorrow and the next few days by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). A clearly marked detour route will be in place to assist motorists and minimize traffic disruption. We ask all drivers to please follow posted detour signs and use caution when traveling near the work zone to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.

At this time, some residents may be experiencing a temporary interruption in water service. Bottled water has been distributed to those currently without service, and additional assistance will be provided as needed. We understand the inconvenience caused by this disruption and are taking every possible step to restore full service as quickly as conditions allow.

Village employees will be working diligently to repair the damaged water lines in a manner that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and long-term reliability. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available and will notify residents immediately once repairs are complete and Main Street has fully reopened to traffic.

We sincerely thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time.
