Suspect Arrested After Standoff With Police

On 02-20-26 at approximately 1802 hours Officers were dispatched to 150 Laquineo Street for a domestic violence incident. The suspect, 52 year old Michael Thompson, was alleged to have assaulted his partner. When police attempted to speak with Michael about the incident he produced handgun and pointed it at them. The officers retreated along with the victim and a perimeter was set up around the home. The Findlay Police Department Crisis Management Team (CMT) was activated to respond to the incident as a criminal barricade situation.
Michael refused to communicate, cooperate, or surrender to CMT. A search warrant was obtained for the home. Over the course of approximately 7 hours a stand-off ensued at the residence. Throughout the stand-off Michael refused to cooperate in any way with police. At approximately 0100 hours a team of CMT tactical officers and FPD K9 “Deke” entered the home and forcefully detained Michael.
Michael was treated at BVH for minor injuries. He was subsequently incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of:
-M1 Domestic Violence ORC 2919.25(a)
-F3 Intimidation of a Public Servant ORC 2921.03
Michael’s victim did not suffer any serious injuries from the domestic incident.
