Kacey Musgraves Announces Sixth Album, ‘Middle Of Nowhere,’ Due May 1
Kacey Musgraves announced that she will release her sixth album, Middle of Nowhere, on May 1 via Lost Highway Records. The collection features high-profile collaborations with Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov. The country star also unveiled the project’s lead single, “Dry Spell,” on Wednesday (March 11), along with an accompanying music video she co-directed with Hannah Lux Davis.
The 13-track album marks a return to Musgraves’ Texas-country roots after the eight-time Grammy winner’s recent folk-pop releases. “The bulk of this record was made during the longest single period of my life,” Musgraves said, “and I found that for the first time, it actually felt incredible being alone and existing in a space not defined by anyone else.” Notable tracks include “Horses and Divorces” with Lambert and “Uncertain, Texas” featuring Nelson.
The album can be pre-ordered now on her official webstore, with limited-edition signed vinyl and CDs available. (Variety)
