Rosanne Cash Brought To Tears By New Exhibit At The Country Music Hall Of Fame And Museum
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum just opened a new exhibit titled, Rosanne Cash: Time Is a Mirror. And while walking through the galleries on Wednesday (December 4), Cash was moved to tears by how the exhibition captured her personal journey and the musical history she proudly shares with her father, Johnny Cash. “At 23, I thought I was completely original, cut off from the past, from my legacy,” she said during the private reception at the museum. “Today I treasure that legacy and the traditions I built on … The experiences I thought I had nothing to learn from are those that left the deepest mark.” The centerpiece of the exhibit is a writing desk given to her by her father, and seeing it moved Cash to tears. On the desk sits a plaster cast of her own hands and a drawing of Cash’s silhouette that inspired one of her album covers. Cash says the exhibit, “Got who I am, and to be seen is the most beautiful thing. It’s what we all want, right? To be seen. And accepted.” (People)
