Scotty McCreery Recalls Priscilla Presley Paying Him The Best Compliment

During Scotty McCreery’s appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, he recalled a tender moment when he met Priscilla Presley backstage at American Idol. Hudson had asked McCreery what his favorite performance was on the show, and McCreery, who won the competition when he was just 16, said it was when he sang the Elvis Presley classic, “That’s All Right, Mama.”

“I love that guy, but the kicker was that Priscilla was there at the show, and I got to talk with her between commercial breaks,” McCreery said. “She looked at me, and she said, ‘Scotty, can I tell you something?’ I said, ‘Absolutely, Priscilla.’ She said, ‘Elvis would’ve loved you.’ Oh my God. I had to sing after that! But that was the best compliment I’ve ever received.” McCreery released his fifth studio album Rise & Fall, on May 10, and is launching a summer tour on June 20 in Hyannis, Massachusetts. (People)
