State of Ohio requirements to get a Real ID

Beginning in May, you will need a Real ID for air travel in the United States.  The difference between a regular ID and a Real ID
is the “Star” in the upper right corner.
To obtain a REAL ID compliant Ohio driver’s license or ID card, you’ll need to provide proof of your full legal name, date of birth, Social Security number (if applicable), Ohio residency, and legal presence in the United States.

Required Documents:
    • Proof of Full Legal Name: 
      • Birth certificate 
      • Passport 
    • Proof of Date of Birth: 
        • Birth certificate 
    • Passport 
  • Proof of Social Security Number (if assigned): 
  • Social Security card 
  • W-2 or 1099 form 
  • Proof of Ohio Residency: 
  • Two documents showing your Ohio street address from different sources 
  • Acceptable documents include utility bills, bank statements, etc. 
  • Proof of Legal Presence: 
  • Birth certificate 
  • Passport 
  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) 
  • Proof of Name Change (if applicable): 
  • Court Order or other official documentation
