City Still Deciding Whether To Permanently Restrict Vehicle Access To Street
City officials are still deciding whether to permanently restrict vehicle access to South Cory Street between West Crawford Street and West Main Cross Street in Findlay.
That section of road was closed to public vehicle traffic on June 11. The bike lane has remained open.
The east/west alley behind the post office between South West Street and South Cory Street is also affected.
The city said it’s looking at the safety aspects of that area for pedestrians and employees, with the new Allan H. Davis Judicial Center building, police department, sheriff’s office, municipal building, and courthouse all in close proximity, and police and sheriff vehicles coming and going.
The Findlay Traffic Commission will again discuss the matter at its February 17 meeting.
Then, the matter will go before City Council’s Streets, Sidewalks, & Parking Committee on February 25, which ultimately will recommend to full city council whether to permanently restrict vehicle access or to go back to the way it had been.
