New Ohio Bill Aims To Reduce Spiking Of Drinks

(ONN) – State lawmakers are pushing a new bill aimed at reducing drink spiking at bars and restaurants.

Ohio Senate Bill 348 would require bars and restaurants to offer testing strips that can detect date rape drugs in less than 5 minutes.

Supporters say they want people to be safer when they go out and give customers a way to check if something feels wrong with their drink.

The bipartisan bill would also require bars to post signs letting customers know those tests are available, but it does not include penalties for establishments that do not offer the kits.
