NYC Peacock Is Now Back Home At The Bronx Zoo

A runaway peacock that bit a guy in the Bronx was from the Bronx Zoo. It’s now back at the zoo after spending the night in a nearby tree. Neighbors started calling the bird Raul when they spotted him perched in a tree just before eight p.m. Wednesday night. The bird flew from the zoo and “bit” one man in the leg who was trying to get him out of harm’s way. More than 100 peafowl are free to roam zoo grounds and the last time one of them flew away was 2011. It comes two months after an Owl broke free from the Central Park Zoo, but Flaco has yet to return to captivity.
