David Allan Coe’s Children Seek Over $1 Million In Unpaid Support From His Estate

David Allan Coe’s biological children are filing legal claims against his estate, seeking what they call “long-overdue” unpaid child and family support.

Coe, an outlaw country legend, died in April 2026 at age 86. Documents filed in Ohio’s Hamilton County Probate Court show ex-wife Jody Lynn Coe claims he owed $540,820.72 in back child support as of 2017, plus 12% annual interest — bringing the total past $1 million. A separate spousal support claim totals $194,882.10. Coe’s November 2025 will deliberately excluded all children, leaving everything to his wife Kimberly.

His daughter Tanya learned of his death through the internet. The family says their filings are about “transparency and family honor.”
