Highway Patrol To Conduct OVI Checkpoint In Hancock, Other Counties

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced that statewide OVI checkpoints will be conducted in Allen, Hancock, Crawford, Sandusky, Lorain, Stark, Ashtabula, Trumbull, Champaign, Greene, Montgomery, Logan, Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Knox, Guernsey, Muskingum, Brown, Hamilton, Lawrence, Ross and Pickaway counties on Friday evening.

The statewide OVI checkpoints, paid for by federal grant funds, are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

“Troopers see far too many people let one bad decision to drive impaired impact their lives and the lives of others traveling on Ohio’s roadways,” said Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol superintendent. “OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from the road.” 

The checkpoint location in Hancock County will be on Tiffin Avenue in Findlay from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m.
