The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum will host its annual Summer Art Camp July 20 to 24 for area grade school and middle school students.

Based on a theme of “Nature Studio,” young artists will explore the beauty, patterns, and textures of the natural world and transform those observations into original works of art.

“Students are invited to slow down, observe closely, and create boldly,” explained Kristine Habelmann, education manager at the Mazza Museum. “This is not a follow-the-steps kind of camp. It is a space for experimenting, exploring, and expressing.”

“Art at Mazza is rooted in storytelling, and this camp is no different. Students will draw inspiration from the museum, connecting the natural world to visual storytelling in creative and meaningful ways,” she added.

The camp takes place at the Mazza Museum from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a final day family reception from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Cost of registration is $175 per child and includes instruction, all required materials, and an Art Camp T-shirt.

“Through nature, the young artists will learn to observe, create, and express in ways that feel both personal and powerful,” Habelmann said. “It’s not just about making art, it’s about discovering how they see the world.”

To register, visit the Mazza Museum’s Events page online at www.mazzamuseum.org/events/. For questions regarding the camp, including scholarships to help with the cost, contact Habelmann at 419-434-4689 or send an email to [email protected].
